While I’ve been away from my blog here is something I’ve seen. While waiting for Nadja to meet me in the city I stopped to see what was going on. Apparently this department store knows how to launch new perfume because there was about 8 different performers. I saw two of them. 🙂
For those concerned about this amazing singing group I’m in called
the immigrants SFI, today we made our debut appearance. We got on a train and headed to a part of Sweden I’m not familiar with. After getting off the train we went to another building to meet up with another SFI class. After meeting the rest of the immigrants poor souls we all left and walked to a mall nearby.
One of the smaller differences that I have come across here in Sweden are some of my favorite apps that I used in the states every day. First off there is no Netflix, Crackle, or ABC Player to watch movies on my iPad nor are there any of my favorite streaming music apps; Pandora and Slacker Radio do not work when over seas. I guess I should have seen this coming but getting the message “This app is not supported in your region” really brought me back to earth or Stockholm should I say. If you live in Sweden you are probably going to tell me to download Spotify, however it may be free from a computer, but you do have to pay to use it on a
smartphone iPhone and tablet iPad and right now I am not in the position to pay for such a luxury. Yeah I know I am a huge geek when it comes to these types of things, I guess if you knew me you’d already know that so what I’m saying is that not having these every utilities available on my trustee iCollection sucks.
This past Summer my best friend Vince played this song a lot, I mean it. He played it on repeat every day 😉 But the song just sticks in you’re head and never gets old. When I got to Sweden I downloaded a few songs from Empire of the Sun, including this one. I had to, it’s a good song. While in Sweden Nadja and I had some good moments walking home from the train, our arms over each others shoulders doing this hilarious coordinated walking to the beat dance while we each had one earbud from my iPhone so that we could each listen to the song. So I guess this was my summer song. Enjoy
It’s a lazy day so lazy I have become. The weather is grey, it’s a bit cold and I think I’ll have some hot cocoa to drink soon. Well until then here is a song I came across a bit earlier. It’s by Grieves which I was rather impressed with after listening to this and some of his other music. “continue reading” and I’ve included a few other songs from him teamed up with another guy named Budo. It’s Grieves and Budo enjoy Continue reading
